Lowestoft Snap Up Linnets Winger

Hawkins becomes a Trawlerboy.

Pitching In Southern Football League Premier Division Central club Lowestoft Town have snapped up winger Ryan Hawkins after had his contract was cancelled by Vanarama National League newcomers King’s Lynn Town last month.

He had been a part of the Linnets remarkable rise following back-to-back promotions.

The 25-year-old joined Lynn in November 2016 from St Neots Town for an undisclosed four-figure fee.

He was a member of Norwich City's academy at the age of 7 and, having made his debut for Dereham Town`s first team at the age of 16, he returned to the Canaries and made one appearance for their under-18 side against Manchester City in April 2013.

He re-joined Dereham, scoring 24 goals in the 2014/15 season to win the Magpies' player of the season award.

He signed for St Neots on a two-year deal in June 2015, making 34 appearances in his first season with them, scoring 9 goals.

His performances earned him a trial with Peterborough United in January 2016, but an ankle ligament injury ended his season early.

The summer of 2016 saw him trial with Stevenage, but he stayed with St Neots and has made 12 appearances at the beginning of the 2016/17 season, scoring twice.

In October 2016 he had an extended trial with Newport County prior to his move to Lynn, who he helped to promotion as Southern Premier Central play-off winners, making 48 appearances in all, scoring 10 goals.

Hawkins had featured only once in the Lynn squad this season, but he did score a total of 25 goals in 137 appearances for the Linnets.
