Pitching In Southern Football League Premier Division Central club Tamworth have made three new signings for 2021/22.

Arriving from league rivals Rushall Olympic is powerful and versatile defender Orrin Pendley.

The 25-year-old, who is perhaps most at home in central defence, joined the Pics during August 2018 from Vanarama National League North side Kettering Town.

He began his career with Studley having been a graduate of Gordon Strachan’s football academy.

During the 2014/15 campaign he also featured for Bromsgrove Sporting, before linking up with Bartley Green Illey on a dual registration in February 2015, where he remained until the end of that season.

During summer 2016 he signed for Alvechurch, before moving on to Highgate United in December 2016 and ending the campaign at The Coppice.

The summer of 2017 saw him link up with Redditch United where his impressive performances soon alerted the attentions of Kettering and he transferred to the Poppies in January 2018.

An excellent debut campaign with the Pics saw him finish as second top appearance maker by featuring in 50 of their 53 league and cup games.

Pendley follows hot on the heels of the Lambs earlier recruits, Jack Thomas and Ben Hart.

Thomas is a 25-year-old central midfielder who signed for now Northern Premier League Division One Midland outfit Ilkeston Town in September 2020 from NPL Premier Division side Basford United.

The box-to-box midfielder made 53 first-team appearances for Mansfield Town, scoring 3 goals, and also had loan spells with Hednesford Town, Barrow AFC, Boston United and Tamworth whilst on the Stags books.

Ben Hart

Ben Hart

Hart is a full back who joins the Lambs having already impressed in two loan spells from League One Burton Albion in 2020, making a total of 5 appearances.

The 20-year-old began his career at Burton and developed through the youth ranks, making his first-team debut in the 2019/20 season.

He enjoyed two loan spells at Kidsgrove Athletic and the Lambs, and his impressive performances saw him awarded a contract with Albion for the 2020/21 season.

With new management in place at Burton, he was released at the start of May and Tamworth moved quickly to get him on board for the new season.

The new trio join goalkeeper Jasbir Singh, defenders Henri Wilder and Chris Cox, midfielders Ryan Beswick and Aaron Forde, winger Dexter Walters and strikers Shaquille McDonald and Dan Creaney, who have all committed to the Lambs from last season`s squad.
