Jimmy Dean, manager of Pitching In Southern Football League Premier Division Central club Peterborough Sports, has followed up the signing of ten of last season`s squad with a further nine agreeing to remain at The Bee Arena for 2021/22 and one new arrival.

Former St Ives Town, St Neots Town and Rushden & Diamonds midfielder Lewis Hilliard will enter his fifth season with Peterborough Sports.

He’s coming off the back of some outstanding form last season after a terrible injury the year before.

Dan Lawlor will start his seventh season with the club, and in the four seasons the league finished, he has won three promotions, three titles and several cup competitions.

Another club `legend` remaining at The Bee Arena is vice-captain Mark Jones.

The striker is starting his sixth season with Sports and has been as integral as anyone in the club`s progress through Dean’s tenure.

Centre-back Brad McGowan signed for Sports in the summer of 202o, and although he played only around 20 games, it was obvious from the start that the club had signed a player of real quality.

He has committed to Sports for 2021/22, despite lots of interest from clubs more local to him.

Midfielder Jim Stevenson has re-signed to start his fourth season with the club.

He adds a lot of knowhow, depth and quality to the middle of the park.

Experienced defender Mitch Griffiths had availability issues last season after his business took off but is now in a position to properly commit, while French winger Pierre Ange Omombe joined last season with fantastic pedigree playing in France.

But, unfortunately, due to Covid and lockdown, his time was cut short.

Portuguese wizard Maniche Sani is about to start his fourth season with Sports after joining in November 2018.

The former Benfica youngster has grown into a player of real importance.

The final player to put pen-to-paper is the club`s own product, Kyle Rowell.

He played in all the training matches at the end of last season and caught the management’s eye when he more than held his own against the seniors.

The new arrival is centre-back Ryan Fryatt, who arrives at the Bee Arena from Vanarama National League North side Kettering Town.

The 27-year-old was originally with the academies of Norwich City and Cambridge United.

He played for Dereham Town in the Thurlow Nunn League in the 2009/10 season and, after signing for King`s Lynn Town in 2010, appeared on dual registration with Dereham and Wisbech Town in the 2012/13 season.

An ankle injury limited his appearances in the first half of the 2016/17 season and he once again spent a period on dual registration with Dereham.

He helped Lynn to promotion as Southern Premier Central play-off winners in 2018/19, making 50 appearances and scoring 3 goals, but had an injury-hit 2019/20 as Lynn made it up to the National League for the first time in their history.

However, he remained in the National League North by signing for Kettering in July 2020.
