Vastly experienced midfielder Carl Baker has agreed to re-sign for Pitching In Southern Football League Premier Division Central club Nuneaton Borough for the 2021/22 season.
The 38-year-old former Coventry City captain re-joined Boro in July 2020 having moved from Liberty Way to join Vanarama National League North side Brackley Town in January 2019.
He started out at Southport and then played for Morecambe before making a £175,000 move to Stockport County in the summer of 2008.
He signed for Coventry in January 2010 and spent four years with the Sky Blues, making over 150 appearances before going on to have spells with MK Dons and Portsmouth.
Nuneaton boss Jimmy Ginnelly told the club`s website "I am delighted for all Boro supporters and the team to re-sign our skipper Carl Baker.
“It’ll be like having a new signing as Bakes was injured almost all of last season with a niggling calf injury.
“His skill is something we all love to see and he’s a top-class skipper in and around the dressing rooms. I’m looking to tap into all his experience on the pitch and in the dressing rooms and the younger players will benefit from his crosses and balls into the opposition`s box, and Bakes wants to finish his career with a promotion so hopefully, this is the year for him, and all of us collectively".
