Glenn Howes, manager of Pitching In Southern Football League Division One South club AFC Totton, has been one of the busiest bosses of the close season so far and has announced that five more of last season`s squad have penned deals for the 2021/22 campaign.

Defender Adam Tomasso, 26, is a very important member of the squad, as he proved last season.

The former Winchester City player re-joined the club in May 2020 having previously won the Southern League with both Blackfield & Langley and the Stags, proving himself to be an established competitor.

Experienced striker Brett Williams also signed for the club in May 2020 from Vanarama National League side Weymouth.

The 33-year-old had joined the Terras in June 2019 from now League Two side Sutton United who he signed for from Torquay United in December 2018, initially on loan before signing a permanent contract in January 2019, scoring 3 goals in 22 games. However, he wasn`t retained by Sutton boss Matt Gray.

He re-joined Torquay from Bromley in January 2017, having spent the 2016/17 season at Plainmoor.

Originally with Eastleigh and Reading, before joining Torquay, he made his name during a prolific period with Aldershot Town.

He scored 39 goals in 89 league starts for the Shots before moves to Stevenage and Forest Green Rovers.

Twenty-year-old midfielder Freddie Read initially signed for the Stags exactly a year ago after a spell in the United States with Georgia State University.

He played for Isthmian League Premier Division side Bognor Regis Town in June 2019 following a handful of appearances for the Rocks on loan from Portsmouth in 2018/19.

He also spent time at Gosport Borough on a temporary basis and featured in Pompey`s Checkatrade Trophy triumph in 2018/19 with appearances against Arsenal under-21s and Southend United.

Highly rated 25-year-old goalkeeper Lewis Noice has also put pen-to-paper for the Stags again.

Another May 2020 arrival from Blackfield & Langley, he had joined the Watersiders in 2017 from Winchester City.

He started out with National League side Eastleigh and also gained experience with Yate Town and Larkhall Athletic.

Manager Howes was delighted to see experienced defender Stephane Zubar re-sign for the new season.

The 34-year-old began his career with French club Caen but was released after loan spells at Championnat National club Pau and Belgian First Division side Brussels.

He spent the 2009/10 season with Romanian Liga I club Vaslui, who won the 2010 Cupa României.

He signed for Plymouth Argyle in November 2010 and moved on to AFC Bournemouth in September 2011.

He was loaned out to Bury in January 2013, Port Vale in September 2014 and York City in November 2014 and he returned to York on loan in August 2015 but returned to the Cherries after he suffered a cruciate ligament injury.

He was released by Bournemouth at the end of the 2015/16 season and signed for Weymouth.

But in the summer 2017, he left the Terras to seek professional football again with Yeovil Town but returned to Weymouth in November 2017.

Capped twice by Guadeloupe in the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup, he helped Weymouth to promotion to the National League before announcing his retirement in September 2020. However, he quickly changed his mind and signed for Southern Premier Division South outfit Gosport Borough before moving to the Stags a month later.
