It`s been a busy time at Chesham United as they prepare for the start of the new Pitching In Southern Football League Premier Division South campaign.

The Generals have seen five more of last season`s squad put pen-to-paper for joint bosses James Duncan and Michael Murray.

Versatile defender or midfielder Lewis Rolfe, 28, re-joined Chesham in late February 2020 for his third spell at the Meadow from Southern League Premier Division Central outfit Hitchin Town.

He originally joined the Canaries back in August 2013 from Chesham, making over 250 appearances for the club, scoring 20 goals and was a pivotal member of the 2015/16 and 2016/17 squads that reached the play-offs.

He returned to Chesham in April 2018 and then re-joined Hitchin again in October 2019 from Isthmian League North side Cambridge City.

Kyle Watson is a 29-year-old left back who initially signed for Chesham in the summer of 2019 from Spartan South Midlands Leaguers Langford and made 37 appearances in 2019/20 before lockdown.

He had two spells with Langford as well as two at Hanwell Town and Broadfields United.

Experienced midfielder or striker Dave Pearce has also committed to the new season, having returned in 2018.

The 29-year-old had earlier spent two seasons with the Generals before signing for Oxford City.

He was previously at Hemel Hempstead Town, where he scored 17 goals in the team that won the 2013/14 Southern Premier title.

He joined Hemel in February 2011 following the demise of Windsor & Eton.

He originally came through the youth set-up at Wycombe Wanderers and had enjoyed a successful loan period at Bracknell Town.

Eoin Casey is one of the players who followed Duncan and Murray from Potters Bar Town in the summer of 2018.

The 29-year-old has scored 21 goals in 57 starts for the Generals since.

As well as Potters Bar, he has also scored goals for Oxhey Jets, Hanwell Town and Aylesbury United.

Talented young 20-year-old winger Billie Busari has also re-signed for the club.

He started his career at Fulham before joining Reading’s academy and eventually Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division side Tring Athletic where he made 26 appearances scoring 4 goals as a 17-year-old in 2018.

He joined Chesham last summer from Tring and also spent time on dual registration with SSML Premier outfit Broadfields United in 2020/21.
