Deering Coup for Farnborough

Former England C midfielder joins Boro.

Spencer Day, manager of Pitching In Southern Football League Premier Division South club Farnborough, has pulled off something of a coup by acquiring the services of midfielder Sam Deering.

The 30-year-old joins Boro following the end of his contract with Vanarama National League side Dagenham & Redbridge.

Deering had signed for the Daggers in November 2019 from National League South side Billericay Town.

He had been with `Ricay since June 2017 when arriving from Ebbsfleet United.

Comfortable on either foot, he has Football League experience with Oxford United, where he also earned an England C cap when the U`s were in the National League, Barnet, and Cheltenham Town.

He scored 15 goals for Billericay from midfield in 2017/18 and was voted the managers` player of the year.

He adds creativity to the midfield either cutting inside from a left-sided position or, placed more centrally, ahead of the defensive screen.
