Much-fancied Peterborough Sports welcome Rushall Olympic to the Bee Arena tomorrow in their opening game of the 2021/22 Pithing In Southern Football League Premier Division Central season.

And there could be a couple of late signings in Jimmy Dean`s squad after he obtained the signatures of Cameron Gow and Jake Battersby.

Gow is a 22-year-old attacking player who returns to the Turbines having left in 2018 for now-Northern Premier Division One Midlands neighbours Yaxley.

He had originally joined Sports a year earlier after being released by now-Championship neighbours Peterborough United, having come through the Posh ranks.

There are high hopes for young striker Jake Battersby.

The 19-year-old has a real eye for goal and joins Sports from Southern Division One Central side St Neots Town, where he had been since the summer of 2020.

Equally at home playing out wide or down the middle, he started out at League One Cambridge United and also had a loan spell with the Saints` league rivals Yaxley in 2019/20.
