Management Team Depart Stourbridge

Mark Yates leaves Glassboys.

Following a meeting between chairman Andy Pountney and vice-chairman Andy Bullingham on behalf of the Board of Directors and manager Mark Yates, it has been agreed between all parties that Mark, along with his backroom team of Neil Howarth and Gavin Hurren, will be leaving Pitching In Southern League Premier Division Central club by mutual consent with immediate effect.

Pountney told his club`s website: "The Board of Directors would like to thank Mark and his team for all their hard work and efforts since taking charge in February 2020, particularly during these covid-19 affected times. We sincerely wish Mark, Neil and Gavin all the very best for the future."

Former Cheltenham Town boss Yates was appointed as the Glassboys manager in February 2020 – just before the initial national lockdown.

Yates began his playing career with Birmingham City and subsequently also had stints with Burnley, who he joined for £40,000, Doncaster Rovers, Kidderminster Harriers - where he won an FA Trophy winners` medal - and Cheltenham, making over 120 League appearances.

After a spell as first-team coach at Burnley he moved into management early in 2006 when he became the boss of Kidderminster.

He has since been in charge at Cheltenham, Crawley Town, Solihull Moors and Macclesfield Town.

The 51-year-old returned to Kidderminster on a short-term contract in January 2019 before leaving Aggborough towards the end of the 2018/19 season.
