Hednesford Get Busy

It has been a busy few days for Keenen Meakin-Richards, manager of Pitching In Southern League Premier Division Central club Hednesford Town.

He has brought in three new signings to Keys Park.

Defender Josh Endall joins from Northern Premier League Premier Division neighbours Stafford Rangers

The 21-year-old had only been with Rangers since July after moving to Marston Road from the Pitmen`s league rivals, Alvechurch.

The left-back started his career with Vanarama National League side Solihull Moors where he played in the under-19s before being picked up by then-League One Coventry City in October 2017.

After being released by the Sky Blues he joined Stratford Town in 2018 before switching to Southern Premier Central rivals Redditch United in October 2019, then another in Banbury United in September 2020 and yet another in Alvechurch in December 2020.

Meakin-Richards told his club`s website: “We have been watching Josh for a while and he is exactly the sort of player we wanted, big, strong and capable of playing as well.”

Meakin-Richards will be hoping that midfielder or forward Aram Soleman settles down at Keys Park after a few months of moving around.

The 21-year-old had joined Northern Premier League Premier Division side Matlock Town earlier in October from Hednesford`s league rivals Tamworth but within a week he had returned to National League North side Guiseley AFC!

He had joined the Lambs in October 2020 from league rivals Bromsgrove Sporting after only having been with them since September 2020 from Guiseley.

He started his career with Championship side West Bromwich Albion, where he progressed through to the Baggies under-18 and under-23 squads.

He was released in the summer of 2018 and signed for National League side Solihull Moors but left for then-Midland League Premier Division outfit Coventry United after failing to breakthrough into the first team at the Moors.

He switched to Bromsgrove`s league rivals Rushall Olympic in March 2019 and then onto Guiseley for the first time in the summer of 2019.

Meakin-Richards said: “Adam has the pedigree and the ability to really tear it up in this league. He is quick, talented and has an eye for goal, so we are really excited he has chosen to join us.”

The third arrival is 6`2” striker Riley Cole O`Sullivan from now United Counties League Premier Division South side Coventry United.

O’Sullivan began his career in League Two Mansfield Town’s youth academy before moving to Coventry United last season.

His fantastic start to this campaign has seen him bag 15 goals in 15 appearances so far and caught the eye of clubs throughout non-League football with the Pitmen beating several Step 2 and Step 3 clubs to his signing.

Meakin-Richards said: “It`s no secret that we have been looking for another striker and Riley had been on our radar as he had for most clubs at our level but with him being on contract at Coventry we didn’t really think there would be much chance of bringing him in this season so to get this signing done is a real statement of intent by the club as well as an exciting player to bring in.

“He had a lot of interest from clubs even higher than us so we are delighted to bring him into the club”.
