Mickleover Add Two to Squad

Mickleover, switched to the Pitching In Southern League Premier Division Central from the Northern Premier League, have made their first new additions ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

Elliott Reeves joins

First to move to the Derbyshire outfit is striker Elliott Reeves from Vanarama National League North side Alfreton Town.

The 25-year-old joined the Reds in the summer of 2020 after returning to the area.

He was previously with Isthmian Premier side Margate in the 2019/20 campaign, making 36 appearances, scoring 13 goals in all competitions as they finished the cut-short season in 12th place in the league.

Prior to the move to Margate in the summer of 2019, he was at Ilkeston Town where he scored 36 times, picking up several end of season awards as the Robins secured the Midland League Premier Division title and promotion in the 2018/19 season.

He joined Ilkeston in the summer of 2018 from Heanor Town and became a firm favourite with the fans.

He was previously with Graham Street Prims.

Experienced midfielder Marcus Marshall has also made the switch to the Don Amott Arena.

The 32-year-old joins from National League North side AFC Telford United, where he had been since March 2022.

He had re-joined Mickleover’s former league rivals Matlock Town in January 2022 for an undisclosed fee Basford United, who have also been switched to the Southern League.

He had joined Basford in late March 2020 from Matlock, who were quick to snap up the forward after Alfreton Town released him at the end of the 2017/18 season.

He began his career with Blackburn Rovers and has further League experience with Rotherham United, Bury and Morecambe.

Spells on loan at Grimsby Town and Lincoln City followed, before he joined Boston United, also having a loan spell at Coalville Town.

He joined Alfreton in 2017 making 8 appearances, also going out on loan to Hyde United scoring twice in 4 games.

A tall attacking midfielder who can also play in a more advanced role.
