With Stourbridge winning on Monday night to move second in the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division Central table, leaders Kettering Town had the opportunity to move five points clear at the top when they made the relatively short trip to Tamworth on Tuesday night.
But the Poppies were held to their first draw of the season to date as the battling Lambs held the leaders to a goalless draw in front of 587.
Kettering are now three points clear of the Glassboys at the top of the pile.
Royston Town slipped into third place after a 5-0 hammering of neighbours St Neots Town at Garden Walk.
The Saints had lost 3-0 at Kettering last weekend and were two goals down at the break to an unfortunate 18th minute Tom Wood own goal and a 37th minute Vance Bola effort.
The Crows made it 3-0 from the penalty spot after 53 minutes when Joe Castiglione was brought down by Harry O’Malley in the area and Rohdell Gordon converted for 3-0.
On 81 minutes, Gordon won and duly converted the second penalty of the game, brought down again by O’Malley, who received a second yellow card.
And in the 3rd minute of stoppage time, Royston`s stellar signing, David Mooney, grabbed his first goal for the club to make it a nap hand.
Biggleswade Town are now fifth after they too won a derby, 1-0 at the Pro-Edge Stadium against out-of-form St Ives Town.
Joe White scored the decisive goal for the Waders just shy of the hour-mark.
Biggleswade went above Leiston in the table after they suffered a 5-1 home hammering by King`s Lynn Town.
It was the first time this cross-border Norfolk/Suffolk encounter had been played for over 70 years and it saw the hosts take an early 5th minute lead through Matty Blake.
But that was as good as it got for the Suffolk side as Lynn went into half-time 4-1 up, thanks to Adam Marriott after 14 minutes, Chris Henderson on the half-hour mark, Ryan Hawkins a minute later and then Michael Gash on 39 minutes.
A Michael Clunan penalty 9 minutes from time finally made it a nap hand for the visitors.
Barwell moved to within a point of now eighth-placed visitors Banbury United after a 2-1 Kirkby Road win.
But the Leicestershire side had to come back from being a 15th minute Greg Kaziboni goal down to win.
Jahvan Davidson-Miller eventually equalised 11 minutes from time, and 3 minutes later, and unfortunate Charlie Wise own goal settled the outcome.
Meanwhile, Needham Market won the Bloomfields derby with Lowestoft Town, courtesy of a goal 3 minutes into time added on at the end of the game from Tariq Issa.
