Southern League Division One Central club Wantage Town have announced another addition to their management team with James Keller coming on board as head coach.
Keller hosts a wealth of experience during his playing days for the likes of Banbury United, Didcot Town, Shrivenham, Carterton, Pontadawe and Southam United.
Like Matt Biddle and Sean McKeon, Keller also shares a soft spot for Wantage Town as it was here where his football career all started, enjoying three seasons with the club during his time.
Now 33 and with 17 years of experience at the semi-professional level behind him, Keller feels this was a great time and fantastic opportunity to `hang up the boots` and continue his love the game within the management arena.
Keller told the club`s website: “I am absolutely delighted to be appointed Wantage Town’s new first-team head coach. For me, it was a no brainer to return to a club where it all began, having fond memories and sharing a heavy heart for.
“Ever since I left, I have always checked results and kept in touch with the squad and previous committee members. What also enticed me was the prospect of working with the gaffer and Sean McKeon, who after speaking with them share the same passion, enthusiasm, and drive as myself where I only ever give my 100% in everything I do.
“Given some of the new ideas we have already shared the last few weeks, I`m extremely excited to be a part of this set-up and see how these new positives changes make an impact on the upcoming season!”
