Wotton`s Truro Looking to Maintain Good Start

Tuesday`s games previewed.

There are seven games in the Pitching In Southern Football League Premier Division South on Tuesday night.

The pick of the matches sees the West Country `derby` at Treyew Road between Truro City and Taunton Town.

The two teams were battling for promotion last season before lockdown and both are tipped to do well again this term.

White Tigers manager Paul Wotton has seen his side make a good start to 2020/21, winning both their league matches and edging through 1-0 in the Emirates FA Cup against Step 5 side Tadley Calleva.

And, as a former defender himself, Wotton will be delighted that his charges have yet to concede a goal this season to date!

One of the players looking to break that duck will be Taunton`s summer signing from Salisbury, Toby Holmes.

He has 3 goals already, including a brace in Saturday`s 2-0 win at home to Walton Casuals after scoring in the 1-1 draw at Hayes & Yeading United on the opening day of the league season.

Another interesting encounter this evening takes place at the Avenue Stadium where Dorchester Town welcome neighbours Wimborne Town.

It`s a local derby between the two Magpies where one of them will get off the mark after both lost their first two games in the league – Dorchester 3-1 at home to Weston-super-Mare and 4-1 at Yate Town on Saturday, while Wimborne suffered a 5-0 drubbing at Tiverton Town on the opening day and a 1-0 home defeat to Chesham United at the weekend.

Elsewhere, Harrow Borough will also be looking to pick up their first points of the campaign when they make the journey round the M25 to Imber Court to take on a Metropolitan Police outfit who have drawn both of their league games to date.

This evening`s other matches see Chesham United welcome Hartley Wintney to the Meadow, Hayes & Yeading host Swindon Supermarine at the SKYex Community Stadium and Walton Casuals meet Hendon at the Elmbridge Xcel Sports Hub.
