The league`s Facebook and Twitter profiles will all be part of the four-day boycott of social media, in conjunction with other leagues, including our Trident league colleagues, the Vanarama National League, the Premier League, EFL and the Women's football pyramid.
This collective effort aims to raise awareness of the issues surrounding online abuse and highlight the greater preventative measures required by social media platforms to stop online discriminatory abuse occurring.
Social media companies must do more to tackle the discriminatory abuse which happens on their platforms.
Players across the game and many others connected to it from all backgrounds continue to receive sexist, racist, and other forms of discriminatory abuse.
Stronger preventative and takedown measures need to be put in place, and the social media companies need to be accountable for safety on their platforms and protect users by implementing effective verification.
We stand together with clubs and leagues in English football, in the hope that we can encourage the social media platforms to go further to stop the abuse that happens on the sites which they are ultimately responsible for.
