Pitching In Southern Football League Premier Division South club Merthyr Town have re-signed former favourite Ian Traylor.
The 32-year-old striker has agreed to re-join after spending the 2020/21 season – or what there was of it – with JD Cymru Premier side Penybont FC.
Traylor, who scored 11 goals in 35 games for Merthyr before the first lockdown in 2019/20, joined the Martyrs from Welsh League side Cwmaman in 2011 and went on to net almost 200 goals in more than 400 appearances for the club.
Previously with Hirwaun and Pontypridd Town, he scored his 100th goal for Merthyr in 2016/17 season against Biggleswade Town.
Manager Dean Clarke told the Martyrs website: “I’m absolutely delighted to get Ian Traylor’s signature over the line. He has been a huge part of the club’s success over the years and is a great character to have around the club. He will be a great addition to our squad this season and I can't wait to re-work with him and the rest of the squad going forward".
