Another Player Returns to Merthyr

Midfielder makes Martyrs return.

Another player has returned to Pitching In Southern Football League Premier Division South club Merthyr Town for 2021/22.

Midfielder Elias Youssef has returned to the Martyrs after the club's suspension of last season's campaign.

The 21-year-old had moved to Southern Premier Division Central side Redditch United in September 2020 when it was decided that Merthyr would have to be `mothballed` due to Covid-19, having only moved to The Met Coaches Community Stadium in July 2020.

He moved onto Southern Division One South outfit Melksham Town in October 2020 and then to Merthyr`s league rivals Taunton Town in December 2020.

He made 27 appearances for Chippenham Town in the Vanarama National League South in 2019/20 before lockdown, having signed for the Bluebirds in the summer of 2019 after being released by League Two side Forest Green Rovers, where he progressed through the ranks at The New Lawn after starting out on the books of Cardiff City.

In 2018/19, he had a loan spell with Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division side Royal Wootton Bassett Town.

Manager Dean Clarke told his club`s website: "I'm over the moon to welcome back Elias to the club ahead of next season. It's been a tough chase competing against other clubs to get his signature, but after some conversations, I'm excited to welcome him back with the new project we are building".
