Jourdain Masidi
Brendan Kelly, manager of Pitching In Southern Football League Premier Division Central club Bromsgrove Sporting, has announced the signing of attacker Shama Bako, Connor Taylor, Akos Onodi and Jourdain Masidi.
Bako arrives from JD Cymru Premier side Aberystwyth Town.
He began his career at Birmingham City’s academy, before moving to Northampton Town in the summer of 2016.
In 2018, he travelled to Germany to play for fourth tier side FC Phönix Lübeck, where he represented both their under-19s and senior side.
He signed for Aberystwyth in November 2020 and then the pandemic lockdown hit.
Kelly told his club`s website: “He’s keen, hungry and eager to learn. He has good pace and great potential for a young lad.”
Taylor is an experienced 28-year-old Leamington-born attacking midfielder who joined his home-town club in the close season of 2018 from Tamworth.
He was voted player of the season by the Lambs supporters at the end of the 2017/18 season and spent five years with the Lambs, having joined initially on loan before signing permanently after spells with Walsall and Nuneaton Borough, making over 150 appearances.
He began his career at Aston Villa before spending a season at the Bescot Stadium, making a single appearance for their first team during the 2012/13 season, when he spent his first spell on loan at Tamworth.
Kelly added: “Connor has been training with us and played a couple of friendlies. He has scored in both and as long as we create chances, he will score.
“He’s a strong powerful forward, who has a really good all-round game. The lad has bags of experience and at 28 years old, he should be hitting his prime. It would be great if that can happen in a Sporting shirt.”
Goalkeeper Onodi has joined Sporting on a long loan from Premier League Aston Villa.
He joined Villa in October 2018 from Eto FC Gyor in his native Hungary.
He initially joined the under-18s at Villa Park before moving up to the under-23s.
Onodi was the winner of the under-18 2019/20 Premier League save of the season award for a stunning stop against Arsenal.
The Hungarian made his debut for the club against Liverpool in the Emirates FA Cup Third Round in January 2021, producing a number of fine saves.
Masidi has featured for Sporting in some of their recent matches, including the wins over Redditch United and Alvechurch.
He is a silky-skilled midfielder who joins the Rouslers from Midland League side Fairfield Villa.
He was previously with Uhlsport Hellenic League side Littleton (switched from the West Midlands (Regional) League this summer), Romulus and Alvechurch.
Kelly commented: “Jourdain is a brilliant footballer. He has bags and bags of energy and is tidy on the ball. He covers every blade of grass and likes to get forward.
“I’ve tracked him for two years whilst playing for Littleton and I feel he is ready to make the step up now”.
