Dan Creaney - hat-trick
Sports inflicted a first defeat on Biggleswade Town at Langford Road, running out 3-0 winners. The Turbines took a 24th minute lead when a Jordan Nicholson cross was deflected past his own keeper by Biggleswade defender James Peters. And then 2 minutes before half-time, Dan Jarvis doubled the visitors lead. And a solid performance was concluded just past the hour-mark when Josh McCammon added number three. Hednesford had a hard-earned 1-0 win at Lye Meadow against Alvechurch. A 39th minute Andre Landell penalty – hotly disputed by the hosts – in the end proved the difference between the sides and saw Church lose for the second time. AFC Rushden & Diamonds, Hitchin Town and Bromsgrove Sporting all got their first wins of the new season. Diamonds inflicted a first defeat on Coalville Town, 2-1 in an end-to-end game at Hayden Road. The hosts got off to a great start when Liam Dolman gave them an early 4th minute lead. Billy Kee cancelled that out after 33 minutes and it looked as though a point apiece was on the cards – when, 2 minutes into time added on at the end of the game, Joel Gyasi struck to make it 2-1 to Diamonds who, even then, needed a great save from new keeper Dean Snedker to prevent the Ravens from equalising. Hitchin won by the same scoreline at Top Field against a Nuneaton Borough side who are also yet to post a three-point haul. A crowd of 452 saw Callum Stead put the Canaries in front after 11 minutes. It was 1-0 at the break and then on 71 minutes, a deflected Massiah McDonald effort pulled Boro back on level terms. But a fine second of the game from Stead with 10 minutes remaining, sealed Hitchin`s win. Like Nuneaton, Needham Market were also yet to win, with a draw their only point to date and they saw Bromsgrove leave Bloomfields with all three on offer, thanks to a goal on the half-hour mark from Liam Spink. Lowestoft Town are the only side yet to register a point and it coule be a long hard season for the Trawlerboys, who suffered a 6-1 battering at the CR Mot Centre Community Stadium by Tamworth. In front of a crowd of 568, Jim Kellerman gave the Lambs an 13th minute lead that Dan Creaney added to 20 minutes later, with Ryan Beswick making it 3-0 at the break. Creaney`s second 4 minutes after the restart meant it was game over and Creaney completed his hat-trick with a penalty just shy of the hour-mark. Jake Reed netted a 66th minute consolation for the visitors, but Mike Taylor made it 6-1 with still 15 minutes left. Lowestoft`s neighbours Leiston suffered their first defeat of the season, losing -2-1 at the LTAA to Redditch United. And that after the Blues had taken an early 3rd minute lead through Adam Mills. Dan Djurovic equalised right on the stroke of half-time and then Dan Sweeney grabbed the Reds` winner 10 minutes from the end. Royston Town were also beaten for the first time as they went down 3-0 at the Arden Garages Stadium to Stratford Town. And that after having Kynan Isaac sent-off after 67 minutes. But by then, the Bards were already 2-0 up after goals from Jaanai Gordon after 3 and 65 minutes. A Will Dawes penalty in stoppage time completed a good win for the ten-men. Banbury United made it two wins from three after a last-gasp 3-2 victory against Barwell at the Plant Hire Community Stadium. In front of 414, Henry Landers put the home side in front after 19 minutes and then Chris Wreh doubled that 8 minutes later. The visitors reduced the deficit 10 minutes before half-time through Ben Stephens and the battling Yellows grabbed an equaliser on the hour-mark through Jahvan Davidson-Miller. But as stoppage time ticked in, Kelvin Langmead headed Banbury`s winner. St Ives Town also made it two wins from their three games to leave hosts Stourbridge still searching for their first victory. In front of 494 at the War Memorial Athletic Ground, Jason Cowley broke the deadlock to give the Glassboys a 44th minute lead. Northampton Town loanee defender Josh Flanagan equalised after 63 minutes and 5 minutes later, Edmund Hottor put the Saints in front. The home side fell apart somewhat after that and St Ives made sure with a third on 72 minutes through Liam Cross.
