Thomas Pens Rovers Contract

Great start sees striker commit to Paulton.

Pitching In Southern League Division One South club Paulton Rovers` striker Leighton Thomas has put pen-to-paper and signed a one-year contract.

The 22-year-old, who has scored 5 goals in his two league games for Rovers to date, joined in the summer from Southern Premier Division South side Dorchester Town, where he had been since September 2020.

The Cayman Island under-20 international winger joined the Magpies from Toolstation Western League Premier Division side Street.

Dorchester could have signed him earlier as they were one of a number of clubs who had a look at him on trial at the beginning of the 2017/18 season.

After missing out with the Magpies, the Cayman Islands midfielder elected to join Western League neighbours Bridport where he netted 13 goals in 50 appearances in his first season with them and then 15 goals in 22 appearances the following campaign.

Meanwhile, Rovers have brought forward their home league game against Evesham United to Saturday, 4th September.

The game was originally scheduled for Wednesday, 29th September.
