Usher-Shipway`s Back at Dales Lane

Making a goalscoring return to Pitching In Southern League Premier Division Central club on Tuesday night was versatile Ben Usher-Shipway.

The 23-year-old joined the Pics on loan from Vanarama National League side Solihull Moors in time to score the opening goal in their 2-0 League Cup victory over Bromsgrove Sporting on Tuesday night at Dales Lane.

Usher-Shipway, who had a loan spell with Rushall`s league rivals Stourbridge earlier this season, signed Moors in June 2019.

The former Boldmere St Michaels youngster came through the youth system with the Mikes before making his first team debut in 2015 against Coventry Sphinx.

A direct winger with a good final ball, he made 42 appearances across the 2018/19 season and scored 11 goals.

He had a previous loan stint with the Pics a year or so ago and has also been out on temporary spells with Alvechurch, Nuneaton Borough and Sutton Coldfield Town.

Pics boss Liam McDonald told his club`s website: “It’s great to have Ben back at the club.

“He did well in his previous spell and is well-liked amongst the group.

“He was keen to come back here and will add pace and good quality delivery from wide.

“He’ll also add competition within the squad and is a good lad to have around the place. I am looking forward to working with him again”.
