Blues Keeper Returns to Hednesford

Pitching In Southern League Premier Division Central club Hednesford Town have re-signed goalkeeper Oliver Basey on loan from Championship side Birmingham City until the end of the season.

The 18-year-old started out in the Sunderland youth set-up, and the 6`4” keeper was a regular for the Black Cats in the Under-18 Premier League, before turning professional for the Blues, turning out in the under-21s.

He enjoyed an excellent spell with the Pitmen before Christmas and the club would certainly have extended the loan if it had not been for a hand injury which cut the loan short.

However, the injury is now healed, and the Pitmen are delighted to have Basey back in the squad for the remaining ten games of the season, commencing with the long away trip to Lowestoft Town tomorrow.
