The Citizens are allocating this game as a celebration of the club`s 100-year Centenary.

The first Welwyn Garden club were formed in 1921 and matches were played on local playing field.
They joined Mid-Hertfordshire League a year later and a permanent home was established at Parkway ground, with the first competitive match being at home to Markyate on 26th August 1922.
In1926, the club joined the Bedfordshire & District League and entered the FA Amateur Cup for the first time.
The club reached the final of the Perry Cup in 1927, losing 6-1 to Ware at Hertingfordbury Park.
The joined the Spartan League and entered the FA Cup for the first time.
In 1934 the club amalgamated with Shredded Wheat FC, although both clubs maintained their separate identities.
They commenced playing at the Shredded Wheat ground, adjacent to the Shredded Wheat works in Broadwater Road, Welwyn Garden.
At the end of the 1935/36 season, the club resigned from the Spartan League; use of the facilities at Shredded Wheat had been withdrawn and as no suitable alternative could be found (the Parkway ground having been redeveloped), at the club AGM held 24th July 1935 it was agreed to wind up the club.
At a meeting held on the 20th May 1937, after they were offered the facilities of Shredded Wheat FC, it was agreed to set up a new Welwyn Garden FC.
In 1937, the club re-joined the Spartan League and played once again at the Broadwater Road ground of the former Shredded Wheat FC.
In 1938, arrangement with Shredded Wheat ended after one season and the club ground-shared with Murphy Radio FC for one season at Handside Playing Fields.
A year later, a permanent home was found at Springfields where the club remained for 29 years.
In 1939/40, the Spartan League was suspended after one game and the club joined the Hertfordshire & Bedfordshire Combination League for the remainder of the season.
Due to the Second World War though, no competitive matches were recorded for 1941, 1942 or 1943.
In 1944, the `recently revived` team joined the Mid-Hertfordshire League and at the end of the War, they re-joined the Spartan League until 1951 when they switched to the London League.
In 1955, the club were once again back in the Spartan League until 1959 when they elected to move to the more local Hertfordshire County League.
In 1970, the Hertfordshire FA withdrew the club`s senior status and they joined the Greater London League Division Two.
A year later they joined the Metropolitan London League (which had been formed that year following the merger of the Greater London and Metropolitan leagues), Reserve Division One.
And in 1973, the club merged with Welwyn Garden United to form Welwyn Garden and took United’s place in the South Midlands League and senior status was regained as a result.
A year later, Welwyn Garden won the South Midlands League championship and Welwyn Garden United were re-established as a separate club.
In 1982 the name changed to Welwyn Garden City Football and Social Club.
And in 1997, they joined the now Spartan South Midlands League.
In 2018, City won the championship and were promoted to the Southern League Central Division and entered the Buildbase FA Trophy for the first time.
