However, we head into the last week of the season with still only Wimborne Town’s relegation being settled.
Leaders Taunton Town and second-placed Hayes & Yeading United had the day off but Farnborough moved level on points with the latter and three behind the leaders after a 1-0 win at Hendon, courtesy of a 27th minute Paul Hodges effort.
Fourth-placed Metropolitan Police were also inactive, as were Weston-super-Mare, who were knocked out of the top five by Chesham United, who won 4-2 at the Meadow against Gosport Borough.
The Generals got off to a great start with a first minute goal from Shaquille Hippolyte-Patrick.
Dan Wooden equalised after 25 minutes and then Luke Hallett put Boro in front just shy of the hour-mark.
But Jaden Thompson-Brissett on 66 and 84 minutes turned the game in the hosts` favour and then Jordan Edwards made suer with a fourth in the last minute.
Yate Town kept themselves just about in the frame with a 3-1 home win over a Kings Langley side who are assured of finishing in at least that third-from-bottom spot.
Jamie Adams gave the Bluebells a 16th minute lead that Alfie Williams levelled 2 minutes later.
Will Tunnicliff restored the home side’s lead 4 minutes after the break, with Matt Bower adding a third with 7 minutes to go.
Truro City’s chances of gone though after they lost 4-1 at a now safe Hartley Wintney side.
And that after Rocky Neal had given the White Tigers an early 6th minute lead.
Toby Neville equalised in the 27th minute but the Row had to wait until the hour-mark for Lucias Vine to put them in front – and he went on to complete a hat-trick in the 74th and 84th minutes.
At the other end of the table, Merthyr Town are clinging on to the hope of finishing in that relegation play-off spot after a battling 4-3 win at Holloways Park against Beaconsfield Town.
Kieran Evans after 13 minutes and Curtis Jemmett-Hutson on the half-hour mark gave the visitors a two-goal lead that Nathan Minhas cut 6 minutes later.
Jemmett-Hutson made it 3-1 to the Martyrs after 54 minutes and Lewis Powell added a fourth with 68 minutes gone.
But there was a nervy finale for visiting fans as top scorer Minhas on 76 minutes and then Matty Harriott in stoppage time pulled it back to 4-3.
Dorchester Town also secured another season at Step 3 level after a crucial 1-0 win at the Ray Mac against neighbours Salisbury.
A crowd of 514 saw Alfie Stanley’s 54th minute effort prove enough for the Magpies.
Already doomed Wimborne were beaten 3-1 at the Webbswood Stadium by Swindon Supermarine, for whom Conor McDonagh after 26 minutes, and then Ryan Campbell on 75 minutes and Zack Kotwica in the 88th minute were all on target, with Dan Bartlett netting a stoppage time consolation for the Magpies.
The day’s two other games saw Poole Town beat Harrow Borough 3-0 at the Black Gold Stadium with a brace from top marksman Tony Lee after 25 and 56 minutes – the second from the spot – and Addwell Chipangura on 84 minutes.
And Walton Casuals edged out Tiverton Town by the odd goal in five at the Elmbridge Xcel Sports Hub.
The Stags enjoyed a dominant opening 45 minutes when they turned around 30 up with goals from Jordy Mongoy in the 20th and 40th minute and Tariq Moore-Azille in the 22nd minute.
Luis Morison reduced the deficit from the spot after 62 and 63 minutes but the hosts held on.
