The 32-year-old had three spells with Southern Division One South side Cinderford Town before joining the Martyrs league rivals Yate Town in the summer of 2020.
Nicknamed ‘Swans’ due to originally coming from Swansea, he first arrived at the Causeway after re-locating to study at Worcester University.
Now a Primary School teacher, he returned from Shortwood United in the summer of 2017 but left for a brief spell with Evesham United.
An experienced player who is one of the most talented defenders you will see at this level with the ball at his feet.
Merthyr boss Paul Michael told his club’s website: “Andy’s a player that I know well and has become available as the summer has progressed.
“He’s a versatile player who is adept at both CB and in CM, he’s an intelligent player who reads the game well and understands the tactical demands of the game.
“He’s a good leader on the pitch and brings another aerial presence that you need in the Southern League Premier South”.
