Friday's Pre-Season Friendly Round-Up

A handful of games involving clubs in the Pitching In Southern Football League took place on Friday evening.

Premier Division Central club AFC Rushden & Diamonds` indifferent pre-season continued with a 6-0 Hayden Road defeat to a development squad from Championship outfit Luton Town.

Diamonds` league rivals Needham Market shared a 2-2 draw at Isthmian North Division outfit Felixstowe & Walton United.

After the Seasiders had taken the lead in the 39th minute through Billy Holland, Patrick Brothers pulled the Marketmen level within 2 minutes.

On 54 minutes, Kyle Hammond fired the visitors in front, only for the hosts to equalise in stoppage time through Callum Harrison.

Premier Division South club Tiverton Town were another to hit six without reply against South West Peninsula League neighbours Elmore.

Jordan Lam opened the scoring after 34 minutes and just 3 minutes later, Niall Thompson doubled Tivvy’s advantage.

It wasn’t until the 69th minute that the Yellows added a third, courtesy of a Louis Morison penalty, but they proceeded to score three more through Tom Purrington on 75 minutes, Lucas Vowles 4 minutes later and then Joe O’Loughlin 8 minutes from time.

Tiverton’s league rivals Chesham United enjoyed a final workout at Meadow Park against a team from League One neighbours Wycombe Wanderers mostly made up of triallists.

And the Generals ran out 4-2 winners.

Division One South club Larkhall Athletic shared a 2-2 Plain Ham draw with a young squad from Vanarama National League South side Chippenham Town.

Max Williams and Harley Prior were the Larks` scorers.

Larkhall’s league rivals Cinderford Town and the impressive Hartpury University side shared a goalless draw at the Causway Ground.
