Citizens Add Steel to Defence

Pitching In Southern League Division One Central club Welwyn Garden City have made their third signing inside a week and their second from Isthmian League Premier Division side Wingate & Finchley, with their capture of full-back Harvey Steel.

The 20-year-old joins having started four of Wingate’s opening 6 games this season.

Steel signed for Wingate in December 2021 from Northern Premier League Division One Midlands side Yaxley.

He had been with the Cuckoos since late November 2021 after arriving from then-Southern Division One Central side St Neots Town, where he had been since July 2021.

A player with great ability and a good crosser of the ball, he is a former Cambridge United academy players who also had a loan spell in the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division with Mildenhall Town in 2019/20.
