Wins for leaders Sholing and second-placed Exmouth Town lifted them seven and five points respectively clear of now third-placed Willand Rovers.
The Boatmen shoved Frome Town down to fifth after winning by the odd goal in five at The Imperial Homes Stadium.
But they had to come back from being a 28th-minute Laurent Davis-Wilson goal down.
Wayne Robinson equalised in the 41st minute, only for Jamie Adams to take Frome into the break in front with a second 3 minutes later.
Dan Mason pulled the hosts back on level terms in the 63rd minute and then just 6 minutes later, Jake Cope scored what proved to be Sholing’s winner.
Not too far away, Exmouth ensured bottom side Lymington Town remained without a win after securing a 2-0 success at The Sports Ground.
But the Linnets weren’t helped after having Luke Churchill sent-off after 38 minutes.
Levi Landricombe eventually broke down the ten-men and then Ben Steer added a second 6 minutes from time.
Willand Rovers moved up to third after a hard-earned 1-0 win at the Stan Robinson Stadium against a Wimborne Town side watched by their new manager Tim Sills.
And he must have been encouraged, despite seeing his new charges lose to a 50th-minute Josh Baker effort.
Evesham United are now fourth after they won 2-1 at The Spiers & Hartwell Jubilee Stadium against Melksham Town.
Dan Griffiths put the Robins in front after 34 minutes only for Ralph Graham to pull the visitors level just before the break.

Evander Grubb restored the visitors` lead on 69 minutes and top scorer Owen Howe made sure with a third in the 88th minute.
And Larkhall Athletic also broke their duck by winning 4-2 at Paulton Rovers.
In the 7th minute, Dawid Regula opened the scoring for Larkhall.
But in the 12th minute, Kyle Tooze struck the equaliser.
After Sainsbury, under pressure, had hurriedly cleared into touch, Wayne Nderemani and Bradley Norris exchanged passes before Norris scored to make it 2-1 to the Larks.
Then in the 33rd minute, a headed clearance fell to Nderemani whose shot beat Sainsbury’s dive to put Paulton further behind.
A scrappy second half saw Rovers pull one back 8 minutes from time as Ed Butcher’s free-kick was rifled into the roof of the net by Will Harvey.
But any hopes of a Paulton recovery were extinguished as Nderemani made it 4-2 in the 4th minute of time added on.
Hamworthy United dropped out of the top five as they were beaten 2-1 at Westbury United.
A brace from Harvey Flippance in the 14th and 42nd minutes gave the hosts a cushion that they maintained until 4 minutes into stoppage time at the end when Max Wilcock replied.

The well-travelled Rendell made it 3-0 with his second of the game with 10 minutes remaining.
