Goalscoring Debut For New Sills Recruit

Scoring Wimborne Town’s second goal in their 3-2 win against Paulton Rovers in the Pitching In Southern League Division One South on Saturday was their latest signing, Asa Phillips.

The attacker became new manager Tim Sills` second signing after goalkeeper Shane Murphy had followed the boss from league rivals Hamworthy United.

Phillips joined the Magpies from Wessex League Premier Division side Shaftesbury, where he was also captain.

He was previously with Hamworthy when they were members of the Wessex League also turned out for Dorset Premier League side Merley Cobham Sports.

Sills told his club’s website: “Asa is a player that I’ve admired for a few seasons. His development last year was first class with his all-round play and a goal threat at all times. I look forward to watching his continued progress first-hand now”.
