Jamie Adams
Jamie Adams re-joins the Martyrs from Southern Division One South side Frome Town.
Originally with Pontypridd, the 30-year-old defender or midfielder had moved to Somerset in June 2022 from the Martyrs` league rivals Yate Town.
He had joined the Bluebells in December 2020 from Bristol Manor Farm, where he had been since early December 2017 after joining from Southern Division One South rivals Larkhall Athletic.
He has also played for Cardiff University, Bridgwater Town, Tiverton Town, Merthyr, Clevedon Town and Hallen.
Manager Paul Michael told his club’s website: “Jamie is a ball-winning midfielder and maybe offers us a little bit of something different to what we already have. He’s technically good, particularly long-range passing and long shots are a bit of a speciality but definitely in terms of winning possession Jamie will improve us in that area."
Also joining Merthyr is midfielder Owen Brain from Toolstation Western League Premier Division side Keynsham Town.
The 18-year-old former Bristol Rovers academy graduate is an attacking midfielder who likes to get forward and has a good set-piece delivery and has an eye for a pass and for a goal.
He had been with the Rovers` academy all the way through from pre-academy, before gaining Southern League experience with Yate last season.
Michael added: “Owen was released by Bristol Rovers in the summer and had been playing at Step 5 but he’s a very, very talented player. He’s technically excellent, tall, strong and quite sharp over the ground, he’s a goalscoring midfielder and I feel whenever we’ve been without Frazer Thomas or Keiran Evans this season we’ve lacked a little in this area so it’s an opportunity for Owen to really show everyone his undoubted talent between now and the end of the season”.
