At the Christchurch Homes Loop Meadow Stadium, Didcot Town, who finished third in the regular season, entertain Ware, who were fifth, in the Division One Central play-off final.
Jamie Heapy’s Didcot side beat Walthamstow 3-1 at home in their semi-final last Wednesday, with goals from Cameron McNeill, Patrick Osborne and Damaray Anyadike.
The Railwaymen finished 4 points clear of Paul Halsey’s Ware, who beat runners-up Biggleswade FC 4-1 in their semi-final at The Eyrie on the same night.
It was a bit of a surprising outcome in the end, given the fact that the Greens had been in second place for much of the second half of the season.
But goals from Declan Nche, Brandon Adams, Dan Rumens and Theo Ofori put an end to Biggleswade’s record-breaking season when they finished the highest they have ever achieved.
The Division One South play-off final takes place at Sholing’sHamworthy United.
Sholing finished as runners-up to champions and neighbours AFC Totton, whilst the Hammers were third in their first season at Step 4 level.
The Boatmen saw off fifth-placed Wimborne Town 2-1 at home in their semi-final last Wednesday, thanks to goals from the long-serving Byron Mason and brother Dan.
The results against the Hammers in the league saw Dave Diaper’s Sholing side take a point away and then won 2-0 at home, so they have the slight edge on recent performances.
Dan Cann’s Hamworthy side overcame an Evesham United side who made a late run to make the top five 3-0 in their semi-final at the Sunseeker International County Ground.
Will Fletcher, Sam Griffin and a Tony Rolls penalty sealed the Hammers` passage to the final.
