Jenson Cooper
Manager Graham Drury has signed forward Jenson Cooper and wide attacker Trey Charles ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.
Cooper is a 19-year old who moves to the Zeeco Stadium from AFC Rushden & Diamonds.
He had been with Diamonds since July 2022.
He is a 6’1” centre-forward who is a powerful runner and always a threat in behind opposition defences.
He joined League Two Shrewsbury Town’s academy at under-16 level, having started his career as a goalkeeper but changed to a forward midway through his childhood.
Also joining the Daniels is 29-year old Trey Charles from St Neots Town after scoring 23 goals in all competitions last season – although he was unable to prevent the Saints from being relegated from the Northern Premier League Division One Midlands.
Well-travelled, Charles was dual registered with Northwood and Bedford Town in 2018/19 before re-signing for Vanarama National League South side Braintree Town in June 2019, then dual registered with Cheshunt in August 2019 and then back with Northwood two months later and to Hendon a month later.
He had joined Bedford in November 2018 from Hitchin Town, having also been at Braintree earlier in the campaign after returning from Scotland where he was on trial with Dundee United, turning down a short-term contract.
His other former clubs include Leverstock Green, Colney Heath, Arlesey Town, Ampthill Town, Stotfold, Leighton Town and St Albans City.
He signed for Biggleswade Town in February 2020, then to Berkhamsted in the summer of 2021 and then to Kempston Rovers in September 2021.
