PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE DIVISION ONE CENTRAL | TUESDAY REVIEW

Seventh heaven for leaders

Pitching In Southern League Division One Central leaders, Bedford Town, were in seventh heaven on Tuesday evening as they swept aside Ware 7-1. Ryan Blake (pictured) helped himself to a hat-trick whilst Louis Walsh, Lynton Goss, Adam Watkins and Shane Bush also got their names on the scoresheet.

It maintained their 100% start to the season as they lead the way from Kings Langley who were held at home by Biggleswade Town and had to rely on a late own goal from Liam McDevitt to get them a share of the spoils in a 2-2 draw. Jon Lacey set the visitors on their way with the opener before Jermaine Howe equalised early in the second half. Luke Andrews’ goal looked to have won it with just over ten minutes to go before Lady Luck smiled on the home side.

The young AFC Dunstable outfit earned a good 2-1 away win at Welwyn Garden City as John Shamalo and Enrico Greco put them two goals ahead within the opening half-an-hour before Henry Jones replied with a late consolation for the hosts.

Fourth and fifth met each other as Leighton Town and Cirencester Town played out a goalless draw.

At the foot of the table, Hadley lost 4-2 at Hertford Town. Wilson Palomeque Bernal and Ergys Pepaj put the home side in control within opening exchanges before Brian Garzon added a third goal early in the second half. Luke Alfano was able to reduce the arrears and offer some hope until Bernal weighed in with his second late on. Isaac Stones pulled a further goal back right at the death.

There was a goalless draw at Kempston Rovers as they took on Kidlington, whilst Thame United and Biggleswade also shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw with Eitel Moumi Goueth putting Thame ahead in the first half and Oluwalopemiwa Aderoju levelling matters after the break.

The other game saw Waltham Abbey triumph 2-0 at Stotfold with second half strikes from Johnny Gill and Sam Shaban.
