There was a stand-out scoreline in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central as Coalville Town brushed aside Berkhamsted 9-0.
An early goal from Luke Shaw set them on their way before a quick-fire double from Tom Berridge put the home side three goals to the good within the opening 11 minutes. Shaw added his second before Terell Pennant got his name on the scoresheet. Right on the stroke of half-time, Berridge completed his hat-trick and within minutes of the restart, the seventh goal arrived from Thomas McGlinchey. A second for Pennant followed before Alex Dean completed the scoring in the closing stages to end the misery for the visitors.
There were eight goals at Barwell as they played out a 4-4 draw with Stamford, for whom James Blunden opened the scoring early on. Thomas Cursons equalised ten minutes before the interval and then turned the scoreline around early in the second period. Beck-Ray Enoru made it 3-1 only for Ashton Offler to pull a goal back. Brady Hickey restored the home side’s two-goal advantage but Bill Bennett and a penalty from Robert Morgan secured a share of the spoils for the visitors.
A first half brace from Camron McWilliams gave Nuneaton Borough a 2-0 win at in-form Redditch United, whilst Elliott Ball grabbed a last minute winner for Bromsgrove Sporting after Finley Wilkinson had cancelled out Keanu Cooper’s first half opener with just three minutes to go for visitors, Hitchin Town.
There was also drama at the day’s other game as Callum Ebanks snatched a late winner for Stratford Town against St. Ives Town.
The wet weather put pay to games at AFC Sudbury, Alvechurch, Kettering Town, Needham Market, Royston Town and Stourbridge.
