PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE | MIDWEEK REVIEW

Some impressive 2-0 away wins

There were two games in the Pitching In Southern League Premier South on Tuesday evening.

It was a successful away trip for Poole Town as they triumphed 2-0 at Merthyr Town (pictured) with Toby Holmes setting them on their way early in the second half and Tony-James Lee settling matters late on.

In the other encounter, Winchester City came from behind to beat Walton & Hersham, for whom Trae Cook-Appiah opened the scoring with just ten minutes on the clock. Max Smith levelled the scores just past the half-hour mark before Thomas Wright netted the winner with just nine minutes to go.

Over in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central, it was a night of 2-0 away wins as all three games that took place on Tuesday finished with the same scoreline.

Two early goals from Jack Manly and Jamar Loza gave Leiston a much-needed three points from their trip to Alvechurch, whilst Owen Oseni bagged a first half brace for Nuneaton Borough at Kettering Town.

There was a good 2-0 triumph for Hitchin Town at Stourbrdge as Isaac Galliford set them on their way during the opening period before Bradley Bell doubled the advantage in the final quarter-of-an-hour.

On Monday evening, Redditch United returned to winning ways as they also chalked up a 2-0 scoreline, beating Stratford Town at The Valley Stadium with Alex Cameron and Danny King on target with a goal in each half.

The other game saw St. Ives Town come back from a goal down at half-time to beat Barwell 3-1. Michael-John Kamson Kamara put the visitors ahead only for Brandon Njoku and Gregory Kaziboni to hit two quickfire strikes midway through the second period. Njoku then went on to notch his second of the night to complete the scoring.

Pitching In Southern League Division One South leaders, Wimborne Town had to come from behind to win their home encounter with Larkhall Athletic. The in-form Dawid Regula put the visitors ahead on the half-hour but Jack Lovell, who like Regula scored a hat-trick in the previous game, equalised on the hour-mark. Just minutes later, Sam Jackson hit what proved to be the winner.
