PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE | WEEKEND PREVIEW

Four games to warm the hearts on what will be a chilly weekend

There is plenty of action to look forward to on what is set to be a chilly weekend as the busy month of December gets underway. We pick four of the games to watch:

AFC TOTTON v CHESHAM UNITED | PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE PREMIER SOUTH
The home side have lost just once in their last six League games, including successive wins in their last two outings. It has been a solid start to life at this level for them with just four defeats from their 15 games so far to sit inside the top five. They play host to opponents who have won their last three games in a row and are building some good momentum as they stay on the coat-tails of the leaders.

HALESOWEN TOWN v MICKLEOVER | PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE PREMIER CENTRAL
The month of November has seen the home side stutter following an impressive start to life back at this level. They still sit handily-placed, just three points off the play-off zone having lost four of their 18 League games so far. Saturday will see them tested by opponents who are top of the table but have experienced stutters of their own during the past month, losing two and drawing one of their last four League outings.

BIDEFORD v BISHOPS CLEEVE | PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE DIVISION ONE SOUTH
This will be a battle of two teams who have aspirations of breaking into the top five. The home side have seen a number of comings and goings amongst their squad recently and go into the game on the back of a 3-1 away win at Bashley last weekend. Meanwhile their opponents are unbeaten in five League games and have proven to be hard to beat this term as just four defeats from 14 games suggests.

BIGGLESWADE TOWN v LEIGHTON TOWN | PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE DIVISION CENTRAL
Victory for either of these teams will thrust them towards the play-off places. The hosts will be looking for the right response after falling to defeat at the hands of Thame United last weekend, whilst the visitors have bounced back from three straight League defeats by winning their last two outings. Just two points separate them going into what is sure to be a hard-fought encounter.
