With the top two seeing their games postponed in the Pitching In Southern League Division One Central, Waltham Abbey were unable to fully take advantage as they were held to a draw by Barton Rovers.
The visitors took the lead through Cheyce Grant just before half-time and it was a lead they held until ten minutes from time when Oluwatamilore Ogunnowo made it 1-1.
It was a day to remember for Bailey Stevenson of Welwyn Garden City as he hit all four of their goals in a 4-2 away triumph at Kings Langley, for whom Harrison Crawford and Louie Collier got the goals.
The day’s big winners were Stotfold who secured a superb 5-0 victory over Hertford Town. James Peters set the tone with a goal in the opening minute before Henry Snee doubled the lead with just five minutes played. Lewis Smith and Connor Vincent got their names on the scoresheet before the interval as Smith grabbed his second with just under 20 minutes to go.
There was away day joy for Biggleswade as a George Wheeler-Bailey double saw them come from behind to win 2-1 at Cirencester Town. William Christopher had opened the scoring for the hosts.
Four games succumbed to the weather but in the day’s other game, a stoppage time leveller from Jake Watkinson saw Leighton Town bring home a point from Biggleswade Town in a 1-1 draw. Jonathan Lacey had opened the scoring for the hosts with just six minutes left on the clock.
