There are some mouth-watering fixtures to look forward to in the first weekend of 2024. Here is our pick of the action.
BRACKNELL TOWN v HENDON | PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE PREMIER SOUTH
This is a tussle between two teams just outside the play-off places who are looking to keep in touch with the leading pack. The home side are keen to start building some momentum and go into the game unbeaten in their last two outings with successive clean sheets, whilst Hendon have won their last two games with Niko Muir-Merchant weighing in with four of their seven goals.
MICKLEOVER v AFC TELFORD UNITED | PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE PREMIER CENTRAL
The home side are back at the top of the table but it is a position they hold only on goal difference with three teams level on 44 points. In fact, just four points separate the top six. Mickleover go into the game on a two-game unbeaten run after something of a wobble during November and part of December, whilst the visitors arrive in fifth-place and on a 13-game unbeaten League run.
FROME TOWN v BEMERTON HEATH HARLEQUINS | PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE DIVISION ONE SOUTH
It’s fourth against fifth here as the home side get their first taste of action in 2024 looking for their first win in three games following two draws and a defeat. They have games in hand on all around them and have tasted defeat just three times in the League this term. The visitors sit just one point behind them and responded to two straight defeats with two successive wins in their last two outings.
CIRENCESTER TOWN v KINGS LANGLEY | PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE DIVISION ONE CENTRAL
Two teams tucked in amongst the leading pack go head-to-head. The home side go into the game on the back of two straight victories, including a fantastic 3-0 triumph over North Leigh on Boxing Day, with George Peare in a rich vein of scoring form. Meanwhile the visitors responded to two disappointing defeats with a commanding 4-1 New Year’s Day triumph over Ware to leave them just outside the play-off places.
