There was just one game in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central as Mickleover beat Stourbridge 2-1.
All three goals came in the second half with Stuart Beavon opening the scoring just before the hour mark and Marcus Barnes adding a second soon afterwards. The visitors pulled a goal back through Brendon Daniels from the penalty spot but it proved to be too little, too late.
The evening’s other scheduled game between Needham Market and Redditch United suffered a late postponement.
There was also a postponement at Plymouth Parkway for their Pitching In Southern League Premier South clash with Didcot Town.
Three games took place in the Pitching In Southern League Division One South with Frome Town leaving it late to snatch a 2-1 triumph at Bristol Manor Farm. Ben Bament put the home side ahead midway through the first half but it was soon cancelled out by George Rigg before Will Taylor popped up with the late winner to move his side up to third.
Second place Cribbs had a late goal of their own to thank for salving a point against Bashley. Things were going to form when Harris Feltham opened the scoring for the home side on 35 minutes but goals from Jamie Johnston and Conor Whiteley with just nine minutes to go, turned the scoreline on its head. However, Jacob Brown made it 2-2 in the third minute of stoppage time.
There was a commanding win for Yate Town as they beat Larkhall Athletic 4-1. Joe Guest set them on their way right on the stroke of half-time before Nicholas McCootie, James Taylor and Jack Bell put them firmly in the driving seat. Dawid Regula’s late strike was mere consolation for the visitors.
The evening’s other scheduled game fell victim of the frost as Mousehole’s clash with Bideford was postponed.
In the Pitching In Southern League Division One Central, AFC Dunstable’s encounter with Thame United was abandoned at half-time due to a frozen pitch with the home side leading 2-1.
The only game that did survive was Kings Langley’s home clash with Stotfold which ended with honours even at 2-2 after the home side let a two-goal lead slip. An early goal from Rayan Clarke set Kings on their way before Louie Collier made it two as the interval approached.
The visitors were able to reduce the arrears early in the second period through Matt Ball as Robbie Buchanan went on to grab a point.
Bedford Town’s home game against Kempston Rovers fell victim of the winter weather.
