There may have only been three games across the Pitching In Southern League on Wednesday evening, but between them they produced 21 goals.
In the Premier South, Dorchester Town recovered from being three goals down to draw 4-4 at play-off hopefuls, AFC Totton.
Tony-James Lee and Luke Hallett put the hosts two goals to the good at the break before Scott Rendell added a third on the hour-mark.
Within a couple of minutes, the visitors had reduced the arrears through Olaf Koszela and then Will Spetch hit another just five minutes later. The equaliser came from Will Fletcher with quarter-of-an-hour to go but they fell behind once more as Lee bagged his second.
The equaliser came on 88 minutes from Shaquille Gwengwe to earn a share of the spoils for the visitors.
“For an away side that’s been 3-0 down, it’s a fairly miraculous turnaround,” admitted Dorchester Town manager, Tom Killick. “As pleased as I’ve got to be about that, we’re all disappointed with the first half.
“We have to look at it as a point gained, bearing in mind the score after an hour. We have to now channel everything into Saturday.”
In Division One South, Willand Rovers came home from Tavistock with a 3-1 victory. Josh Baker put the visitors ahead but the lead lasted barely a minute before Liam Prynn levelled matters. Second half strikes from Douglas Camilo and Charlie Wright eventually won the game.
Over in Division One Central, there were just the nine goals between Biggleswade and Welwyn Garden City as the visitors took the honours with a 5-4 triumph.
Two quickfire goals from Gucci Soulya-Osekanongo and Lynton Goss put the visitors in the driving seat only for Thomas Coles and Luke Oswick to net two goals in quick succession for the home side to level things up just before the half-hour mark.
Goss restored the lead for his side and that is how it stayed going into the second half where two goals in a minute, one for Dernell Wynter to make it 4-2 and one for Daniel Bond to reduce the arrears and set up an exciting contest.
A goal from Alex Marsh levelled the scores but more drama followed as Brad Wadkins grabbed a winner for Welwyn Garden City.
