Our game of the day in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central saw two late goals give Mickleover a 2-0 victory at Redditch United.
Marcus Barnes opened the scoring with just ten minutes to go before adding a second in stoppage time against hosts who were rocked by manager, Matt Clarke’s decision to step away from his duties for the time being.
The first game of Russ Penn’s reign at Halesowen Town ended in defeat as goals from Brady Hickey and Beck-Ray Enoru gave Barwell a 2-0 victory.
A brace from Callum Ebanks helped Stratford Town come from behind to beat Berkhamsted, who led through a goal from Max Bustamante MacAire. Ebanks’ goals came within an eight-minute spell just past the hour-mark.
There was away day joy for St. Ives Town as they secured a 4-2 triumph at in-form Royston Town. Theo Alexandrou set them on their way early on before Michael Richens doubled the advantage before the break. Another from Alexandrou early in the second period put them well in command before Adam Murray pulled one back. Richens’ second of the game sealed the win even though Damaray Anyadike grabbed a stoppage time consolation.
A Josh Allen goal on the stroke of half-time was enough to give AFC Sudbury three precious points against Hitchin Town, whilst the day’s other game saw Coalville Town take the lead against Long Eaton United through Terell Pennant with ten minutes to go. However, the evergreen Nathan Tyson hit a stoppage time equaliser.
Four games fell victim of the weather.
