PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE | TUESDAY REVIEW

The action from Tuesday evening

There were three games in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central on Tuesday evening.

Leaders, Needham Market, were held to a 1-1 draw at Stourbridge. It was Alex Jones who gave the hosts the lead on the quarter-hour mark before Seth Carroll-Chambers levelled matters ten minutes before the break and that is how it remained.

It was also honours even at Long Eaton United as they played out a 2-2 draw with play-off hopefuls, Leamington. All four goals came in the second half as Tyrone Barnett put the visitors ahead on 49 minutes only for Jamie Hanson to restore parity five minutes later. Andy Mandjoba then put the hosts ahead only for Callum Stewart to level with just a couple of minutes to go.

There was a first win for Russ Penn as his Halesowen Town side won 2-0 at Alvechurch thanks to second half strikes from Miracle Okafor and Ryan Boothe.

Meanwhile Monday evening saw Coalville Town warm up for their Isuzu FA Trophy quarter-final tie at the weekend by coming from behind to win 2-1 at St. Ives Town. It was Jonny Edwards who gave the hosts an eighth minute lead before Scott McManus and Luke Shaw turned the scoreline around before the break.

There were three games in the Pitching In Southern League Division One Central as leaders, Bedford Town, had to settle for a 1-1 home draw with Stotfold. Liam Dulson gave the hosts the perfect start with a goal on three minutes but Connor Vincent equalised ten minutes later and that is how it stayed.

The big winners of the evening were Hadley who romped to a 6-0 triumph over North Leigh. Isaac Stones helped himself to four of the goals, with George Alferi and Brad Marriott notching the others.

Kempston Rovers secured three points courtesy of a 2-0 victory over Leighton Town as a goal in each half from Rio Dasilva and Edwin Daffern saw them earn a much-needed win.
