ALL TO FOLLOW | WEEKEND PREVIEW

All of the key matters still to be decided on the final weekend of the season

Rather than pick out four games to follow on this final weekend of the regular season, instead we will look at all of the matters still to be decided across all four of our divisions.

Starting in the Pitching In Southern League Premier South and with Chesham United already crowned Champions, there is a battle to finish second. AFC Totton currently hold that position and they head to a resurgent Dorchester Town who have ensured a top ten finish.

Salisbury are two points behind and they play host to a Hanwell Town outfit who are battling against being sucked into the relegation zone. Also, still in with a mathematical shout of finishing runners-up are Gosport Borough, but even if other results did go in their favour, it would take a big swing in goal difference. Borough hosts Champions Chesham United.

Just one play-off place is up for grabs and it’s between Bracknell Town, who host relegation-threatened Hayes & Yeading United, and Merthyr Town, who fell out of the play-off places for the first time last weekend and host already-relegated Harrow Borough.

At the bottom, two of the four relegation spots are still to be decided. Currently they are held by Hayes & Yeading United, who have that tough away trip to play-off hopefuls, Bracknell Town, and Swindon Supermarine, who host midtable Winchester City.

Also still threatened with the drop are Beaconsfield Town and Plymouth Parkway, who meet each other on Saturday in what is sure to be a tense affair, and Hanwell Town who face that tough trip to Salisbury.

In the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central, Needham Market have already been crowned Champions with AFC Telford United in second place.

Three of the four play-off places are still to be confirmed with Leamington at home to AFC Sudbury, who need a result to secure their survival, and Redditch United welcoming Champions Needham Market. Meanwhile Stamford, are in good form as they go to Mickleover, who are now also involved in the battle to confirm their place, whilst Stratford Town go to a Royston Town outfit that have secured their top half finish.

At the bottom, three of the four relegation places have been sorted. Now its between Hitchin Town, who fell into the bottom four last weekend, and AFC Sudbury whose recent form has lifted them out of the danger zone. Hitchin Town host midtable Stourbridge, whilst AFC Sudbury make the trip to play-off hopefuls, Leamington.

Into the Pitching In Southern League Division One South and the race for the title goes down to the wire.

Going into the weekend, Wimborne Town hold a two-point advantage over Frome Town. For Wimborne it’s a road trip to a Melksham Town side who started the season well but now find themselves in the lower half, whilst Frome play host to Bristol Manor Farm, who are looking to secure their place in the play-offs.

Talking of which, two places are still up for grabs and there are three clubs in contention. Bristol Manor Farm and Larkhall Athletic are the current incumbents with Larkhall heading to take on a Cribbs side who have already secured third place. The other club involved is Mousehole who are at home to Bishop’s Cleeve, who themselves had their eyes on a play-off place until very recently.

At the bottom, it has already been confirmed that Paulton Rovers will join Hamworthy United in occupying the two relegation spots.

Finally, into the Pitching In Southern League Division One Central where the title is still to be confirmed with Biggleswade Town three points ahead of Bedford Town.

A home game against Ware, who confirmed their play-off place last weekend, is on the agenda for Biggleswade Town, whilst Bedford Town are also at home as they face a North Leigh outfit who were challenging them at the top in the first half of the season before falling away in recent months.

In what has been an extremely close contest with a large number of teams involved, the play-off places are all now confirmed with AFC Dunstable, Ware and Waltham Abbey being joined by whoever misses out on taking the title.

There is one relegation spot still to be confirmed after Kempston Rovers succumbed to the drop. It is between Thame United and Aylesbury United. Going into the weekend, Thame sit three points adrift and face a trip to Waltham Abbey, whilst Aylesbury United host midtable Biggleswade FC.

Saturday will no doubt see plenty of twists and turns with all the drama that you would expect from what has been a fantastic Pitching In Southern League season.
