Attention now turns to the play-offs with some mouth-watering semi-final encounters taking place on Wednesday evening.
In the Pitching In Southern League Premier South, Salisbury, who finished third with an impressive 79 points, host a Gosport Borough outfit who finished just one place and one point behind them in another encounter that has all the ingredients to be an enthralling contest.
Wide-man, Noah Coppin, goes into the game on the crest of a wave for the home side. His 24 goals in all competitions have earned him the Player of the Season award and many admiring glances.
“It’s been a great season for me,” he told us. “To get 24 goals from the wing and earn the Player of the Season and Top Goalscorer awards at 22 years of age is great, but my main goal has always been to see this club get promoted.
“As a team it’s something that we’ve been focused on since the summer. It’s a massive game on Wednesday; we know that Gosport Borough will be tough opponents, but we have the home advantage, which we are buzzing about because our fans have been a real driving force for the team this season.
“It’s a must-win game, everything comes down to this one, there are no second chances. My approach will be the same as it is for every game and hopefully we will make it through to Monday’s final.
“The season has been tough with everyone capable of taking points off each other, very similar to last season in that respect. If you slip-up other teams will take their opportunities, so we have to make sure that there are no slip-ups on Wednesday.
“Onto the play-offs, you Whites!”
The other play-off semi-final in the Premier South sees second-place AFC Totton host a Bracknell Town outfit whose late season form saw them pip Merthyr Town for a place.
