The Pitching In Southern League Division One South play-off final takes place on Monday afternoon and sees Frome Town host Bristol Manor Farm.
The home side finished second in the table 75 points with just five defeats from their 36 League games. They were beaten to the title on the final day of the season and finished 16 points above their opponents whose impressive late season form earned them a fourth-place berth.
“Games at this level don’t come much bigger than this,” striker, Kane Simpson, told us. “I’m buzzing to be involved; there’s sure to be a big crowd and a great atmosphere, so hopefully we can get over the line.
“We are up against one of the form teams who have been scoring plenty of goals, but so have we and I’ll be doing all I can to get my name on the scoresheet.”
If Simpson is to do that, he will have to find a way past Bristol Manor Farm goalkeeper, Seth Locke.
“There will be a large crowd and this combined with the expectation on the home side means that they will have to deal with the added pressure that comes with it,” Locke told us. “At the end of the day, it’s just another game of football and we’re playing with smiles on our faces at the moment.
“It’s going to be some occasion with two big clubs in this League battling it out in front of what is sure to be a vocal crowd.”
We congratulate both teams on getting this far – may the best team win.
