CLUB | Biggleswade FC – Pitching In Southern League Division One Central

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN FOLLOWING YOUR CLUB AND HOW DID YOUR SUPPORT FIRST BEGIN? | Since the 2019/20 season. I gave up a season-ticket at Arsenal after 30 years as I wanted to be able to enjoy watching football with my two children. I chose Biggleswade FC as they were a newish-formed team and I was keen to follow their rise up the football pyramid.

HOW MANY OF THIS SEASON’S GAMES WERE YOU ABLE TO ATTEND? | I was able to attend all but three of our League games.

WHICH OF YOUR TEAM’S PLAYERS HAVE MOST STOOD OUT FOR YOU OVER THE COURSE OF THE SEASON AND WHY? | Michael Fisher, he’s been a rock at the back most of the season and I’ve nicknamed him ‘Fishbauer’ due to his mazy runs from centre half!

WHICH GAME MOST STANDS OUT FROM THIS SEASON AND WHY? | It would have to be the Bedfordshire Senior Cup Final where we beat AFC Dunstable at Kenilworth Road to lift the trophy for the first time. In the League, it would probably be Kings Langley away, which was played in a monsoon!

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVOURITE AWAY GROUND TO VISIT AND WHY? | Bedford Town as it involves no travel and I get to meet all the friends we have made following FC. For facilities and hospitality, it would be Cirencester Town, which always seems to be played in thick fog, so I’ve yet to see the whole ground!

HOW DID THE SEASON COMPARE TO YOUR HOPES DURING THE SUMMER? | It’s been a strange season League-wise due to the weather and issues with Bedford Town’s pitch. Apart from Stotfold away, we have competed in every game, with the injuries to key players and having to play the end of the season in such a short period, it is disappointing but understandable why we didn’t make the play-offs. Winning the Bedfordshire Senior Cup did make it a joy, however.
