This weekend will see a combination of League action and the start of the Isuzu FA Trophy trail for a number of our member clubs.
Here is our pick of the action…
AFC TOTTON v BASINGSTOKE TOWN | PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE PREMIER SOUTH
Two teams with unbeaten League records, but who suffered surprise Emirates FA Cup defeats last weekend, go head-to-head. The hosts have won four and drawn five of their League encounters to date, but succumbed to defeat a Westbury United last time out. Meanwhile, the visitors have three victories and two draws under their belt but fell to a home defeat at the hands of Sholing to end their FA Cup interest. This will be a test of who responds the best to last weekend’s set-backs.
BANBURY UNITED v STAMFORD | PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE PREMIER CENTRAL
Both clubs find themselves in the early top three following solid starts to the campaign. The home side have just one defeat from their opening five League games, from which they have only conceded three goals following relegation at the end of last term. The visitors are the early pace-setters having won four of their opening five League fixtures, during which time they too have only conceded three, so a close encounter is anticipated here.
There will be no fixtures in Division One South and Division One Central this week as it is Isuzu FA Trophy weekend. Some clubs have already faced Preliminary Round action last month, but for the rest, this will be their first involvement of the season in this competition. We wish all clubs the very best of luck. We will have a round-up of the results and coverage of the stories from the action.
