The draw for the second round qualifying of the Isuzu FA Trophy was made on Monday lunchtime.
It has handed Enfield an away tie at Felixstowe & Walton United following their 2-0 victory over Pitching In Southern League Division One Central rivals, Biggleswade FC, on Saturday.
“I was really pleased with our performance at the weekend,” said Enfield boss, Alex Salmon. “It was important for us to be able to bounce back after a couple of losses at home.
“I wanted to see us react well and play some good football, which we did, against strong opponents who went into the game on the back of a good result in their previous outing.
“It was so important that we were able to get on the ball and move it quicker than them and I also knew that set-pieces would be so crucial.
“It’s always nice when things that you work on come off in a match situation and we deservedly made it through.
“As a collective we did really well; we defended well when we had to, especially in the second half and everyone played their part. Each of the lads was an 8+ out of ten, and that’s what you want to see.
“Now we face an away draw in the next round against Isthmian League North opponents. We’ll prepare right for it and see where it takes us.
“There are still things that we need to work on, but we continue to grow and move in the right direction.”
Elsewhere in the draw, Hadley have home advantage against Ipswich Wanderers, as do Leverstock Green in their clash with League rivals, Barton Rovers. Other all Southern League encounters see Real Bedford welcome Leighton Town, Tavistock and North Leigh go head-to-head, Bashley entertain Falmouth Town, Melksham Town and Bishops Cleeve lock horns, Evesham United take on Bristol Manor Farm and high-flying Yate Town welcome Bideford.
The remaining ties involving our Member Clubs are Berkhamsted at home to Tilbury, Thame United go to Westfield, Flackwell Heath entertain Broadbridge Heath and Exmouth Town have home advantage against Horndean.
The ties will be played on Saturday, September 21st.
