The PST Sport Club of the Month Awards for September 2024 have been announced.
In the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central, it’s Kettering Town who take the honour.
They started the month with a single-goal defeat at Royston Town, but recovered to secure a come-from-behind victory at St. Ives Town in their next game as Kai Fifield levelled the scores with 20 minutes to go before Lewis White hit the winner in the final minute.
A hard-earned 1-0 victory over Cleethorpes Town saw them make Emirates FA Cup progress before they secured a commanding 4-1 triumph against Lowestoft Town in their next outing as an own goal set them on their way just before the interval and second half strikes from Luca Miller, Nile Ranger and Dan Jarvis followed.
Former FA Premier League striker, Nile Ranger was on the mark again in the next game as his brace gave them a 2-0 victory against fellow high-flyers, Stamford AFC. The month came to a close with a convincing 3-0 win away at League rivals, St. Ives Town in the Emirates FA Cup.
The Pitching In Southern League Premier South honour goes to Dorchester Town.
They made a bright start to the month with a convincing 4-0 success against Frome Town as Jordan Ngalo opened the scoring early on and Shaquille Gwengwe doubled their advantage before ten minutes had been played. Matt Buse and Wayne Robinson added further goals after the break.
The next game saw them come from behind to defeat League leaders, AFC Totton, 3-2. A quickfire double from Olaf Konzsela just before the hour-mark saw them overturn their first half deficit before Wayne Robinson got his name on the scoresheet once more with their third goal, which was enough to give them victory despite their opponents pulling a goal back late on.
The month ended with a 3-1 victory over Chertsey Town and another brace from Olaf Konzsela. Joining him on the scoresheet was Shaquille Gwengwe.
Over in the Pitching In Division One Central, it’s Hadley who are celebrating.
It’s been an entertaining month for them, which got underway with a 2-1 victory over Grays Athletic in the Isuzu FA Trophy. That was followed by an away win at Ware by the same scoreline as Isaac Stones and George Alfieri.
Their next game saw three first half strikes put pay to AFC Dunstable in a 3-0 success. Hedley Ogbebor put them ahead in the opening exchanges before two goals in quick succession from Jordan Edwards and Isaac Stones just before the break settled this contest.
A 4-1 victory over Ipswich Wanderers saw them march on in the Isuzu FA Trophy and they won by the same scoreline in their next game, just as they had done after the previous round. This time it was Berkhamsted who succumbed to defeat with Isaac Stones setting them on their way before Billy Hayes put them back ahead and two late strikes from Luke Alfano and Toby Gould added gloss to the win.
Finally, in the Pitching In Southern League Division One South, Bristol Manor Farm take the award.
A 2-0 Isuzu FA Trophy victory over Westbury United set them on their way before they handed out a 6-1 thrashing at Cinderford Town with Louis Britton and Joshua Bissett bagging two goals apiece as George Dowling and Daniel Dodimead hit the others.
A penalty shoot-out at Evesham United secured their passage in the Isuzu FA Trophy after it had finished 2-2 and they ended the month with another scoring spree, this time against Falmouth Town, who they beat 5-1 with two more from Louis Britton and other strikes from Daniel Dodimead, Josh Bissett and Dylan Tate.
We congratulate the four winners:
Premier Central – Kettering Town (2.500ppg) win on goal difference
Premier South – Dorchester Town (3.000ppg)
Division One Central – Hadley (3.000ppg) win on goal difference
Division One South – Bristol Manor Farm (3.000ppg)
Please note that each club needs to have played at least three games in a qualifying competition (League, Emirates FA Cup or Isuzu FA Trophy) during the course of the month to be eligible for the award. Goal difference is considered for League matches only.
