FOUR TO FOLLOW | BOXING DAY ACTION

We look ahead to the festive action

There’s always a very special atmosphere on Boxing Day and we’ve got some mouth-watering action coming up.

Here’s our pick of the games…

HAVANT & WATERLOOVILLE v GOSPORT BOROUGH | PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE PREMIER SOUTH
Both teams go into this encounter having lost just four times so far this season. The hosts sit fourth on the back of a five-game winning League run, which has included some impressive results, including a 4-0 triumph at Chertsey Town at the weekend. They face Hampshire rivals who are part of a group of teams just outside the play-off places but with games in hand and are six League games unbeaten.

AFC TELFORD UNITED v HALESOWEN TOWN | PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE PREMIER CENTRAL
It’s third playing host to second here. The home team are four League games unbeaten, although they were denied victory at the weekend at Stourbridge by a stoppage time leveller from the home team to make it two 1-1 draws in a row. The Yeltz meanwhile benefitted from a stoppage time goal on Saturday, as they beat Redditch United to make it just one defeat from their last nine League outings.

YATE TOWN v BRISTOL MANOR FARM | PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE DIVISION ONE SOUTH
The home team are running away with it at the top of the table with just three defeats from their 21 League outings. They responded to defeat in their previous outing by beating Helston Athletic at the weekend to go nine points clear. They face opponents who were one of the favourites for promotion going into the season and although they currently sit ninth, they are only four points off a place in the top five. They are four unbeaten, but the last two have been draws.

AYLESBURY UNITED v BERKHAMSTED | PITCHING IN SOUTHERN LEAGUE DIVISION ONE CENTRAL
The League leaders face their latest test as they go to opponents who sit just a few places out of the play-off places but are keen to not let the points gap get too large as currently they are ten points adrift of the top five. The home side had their game at Real Bedford abandoned on Saturday due to floodlight failure with them trailing 2-0. Their form has struggled recently, whilst the visitors arrive on the back of five straight wins that have seen them score a total of 16 goals to top the charts at Christmas.
